The first thing to check is the plugs. Use NGK BCPR7ES-11 and gap them to 1.0mm, nothing more, nothing less. Its important to have them gapped properly. Even if your plugs are quite new, replace them with new ones. Do NOT use any other plugs than these NGKs. If this does not help, check the DI unit. Replace it with a known good unit. Dont bother about looking for sparks, that wont be the problem (wont see the effects of a bad DI until its hot and you push hard). If this doesnt help, look for fuel related problems. Most often these problems are related to the ignition system, not the fuel system. /Mathias Dave Speed wrote: > > 1995 9000 Aero > 40 K miles > > Driving west out of San Antonio, TX on I-10 > Ambient temp 94 deg F; full tank of fuel. > > 75 mph / 2500 rpm in 5th gear pulling up a long hill; showing > just a little boost on the turbo, as I opened the throttle, the > engine cut out, then picked back up. > > Did it again a little later and the engine died.
