Subject: 2000 9-3 disappointment

Hi, I recently took delivery of my new company car, a three-door 9-3t auto with aero bodykit, here in the UK, but it arrived with an over-cooling problem (the gauge would reach operating temp and then fall back to cold again - the dealer took it back and replaced a sensor) and now a couple of weeks and 1,400 miles down the line the driver's seat is falling to bits the cloth trim cover and foam cushion has completely come away at the front edge and therefore tries to follow you out of the car (!)), and the nasty soft, long travel brake pedal is frightening me - sometimes the pedal slowly sinks below my foot while stationary, waiting at a junction, or travels alarmingly close to the carpet when pulling up hard into a roundabout from 90 -100 mph. Plus, if you want to get really picky, the dashboard continually creaks, and "twitters" away over bumps in a quite unacceptable fashion - my dad who drives a really ancient and totally abused, but still solid and reliable (Honda-based) Rover 400 was very unimpressed after a run in my new car. Having stepped out of a faithful rock solid, if sluggish and unrefined, Audi A4, and having driven many a mile in an equally excellent and solid Volkswagen Polo before that, this SAAB just doesn't feel like a "quality" car to me. Any thoughts, anybody?
