Subject: Hard Starting 900T




My '92 900T has started to be problematic at start-up.  When I first start
it, it cranks over real strong, and sounds like it isn't getting any gas.
This can take up to 15 secs.  Then it roars to life, rough-idles at about
1,500rpm, then dies.  All the while belching a whiteish-blue smoke.  The
second time starting, usually isn't so painful.  The smoke smells like a mix
of gas and paint thinner.  I took it to a local place, and they said that
the starter and alternator were good, but the battery was weak, so I put a
new one in today.  No better.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
