When was the last time you cleaned your throttle body/plate and changed your fuel filter? I would try those two things first. A dirty fuel filter can cause the intermittent problems you mention. A dirty throttle body/plate can cause stalling too. I use Berryman's B-12 Spray Carb and Choke cleaner to clean mine and the Berryman's B-12 Chemtool or Gas treatment in the gas tank.
