You might have a bad turbo bypass (hooter) valve. If you go to www.saabnet.com, you can ask the question there or check the FAQs on how to checkout your bypass valve. Hopefully it nothing serious. Always check the simple stuff first, I have an 87 9000S 5 spd. I used to have an 87 900S and 83 900T. Good luck.
