I think I started this thread. There've been some very interesting responses .... I'd only like to add that I still love driving my 9-3 (and the current fuel shortage in the UK means I can't blast around the countryside in it ..., damn!), I just think this particular example is not such a well built car as I hoped. As for the twit who asked if Saabs were my "cup of tea", or if I'd ever driven one before ordering ... words start to fail me ... Does that mean that if you've test driven a car, or are familar with a particular model, you have no right to expect a class standard of build quality???? Having said that, if the oily bits hold together and it doesn't let me down, I'll soon get to live with the odd rattle and squeak, the mushy brake pedal, or even the seat falling apart under my 14 stone (plus) behind ... it's worth it for the acceleration, silence, comfort, and general "feel-good factor" feeling that I get driving this great car!
