Is there any reduction of performance ? The source of the carbon build-up is oil residues, but it builds slowly over a long period. Some people think that you can clean out the engine by giving it a good run! But it is probably to late by now. Removing the cylinder head is a good start. I don't know if it matters that the engine is slanted, one can speculate that maybe the cylinder wear is slightly higher on the lower side of the block ? Johannes
