Ironic--had the same problem on my '81 Turbo, couldnt be fixed so they replaced the whole dash instument module at aprox 23k km under warranty--never ticked since but the rest of the car is tired; still goes fast and still handles well but rust on the body, new tires (TRX anyone?) and an engine that wants to quit until warm, doesn't make it very practical to keep it going thru another winter. No other ticks tho. ck TimeRanger wrote: > On Thu, 07 Sep 2000 21:18:38 GMT, Julian Sweet > <jsweetnopsamneering.ucsb.edu> wrote: > > >I have the identical problem and would be very curious as to what > >solution you find... > > > >jsweetnopsamneering.ucsb.edu > > > > > >On Wed, 6 Sep 2000 23:12:43 +0100, "Matthew Crump" > ><mailboxnopsamhewcrump.freeserve.co.uk> wrote: > > > >>Hi, > >> > >>I own a 1993 900SE (classic shape). > >> > >>There is a strange ticking noise eminating from behind the speedometer. > >> > >>The sound is more noticeable some of the time and barely audible at other > >>times, the speed of the ticking increases and decreases with the speed of > >>the car. > >> > >>I assume that it is something to do with the cable which connects to the > >>speedometer. > >> > >>Am I correct in my assumption ?.
