Hi, You might try checking the grounding: The braided battery cable runs from negative to the chassis, then to a point on the transmission. Check that both these connections are corrosion-free. You may want to use a file or sandpaper to clean up all contact points. On my 1983 99 (r.i.p.) my temperature gauge would jump around as soon as I used the turn indicator. Fixed it by cleaning junction between battery negative and chassis . . . Good luck! / Robert remco wrote: > Hi all > > On my '87 900 Turbo the thermometer bounces all over the place within > fractions of seconds - sometimes it almost pegs but most of the time it > sits around the middle. > > ThermoDynamics not allowing for those type of changes :), I am assuming > it is a loose wire someplace.
