I live in Belgium and I am driving a 9-3 Aero Convertible since May of this year. Have done 8,000 km without any problems, noise or creaking. No problems with seats (it's leather) either. Anyway, since this is my first convertible I can feel in the corners that the body is not as stiff as a normal sedan or coupe - but nothing excessive and a real pleasure to drive. Just keep the steering weel strong in your hands when "pushing the pedal to the metal" as any irregularity on the road will draw the front weels out of the line.
