I have owned three Saabs with 5 spds, an 83 900T, 87 900S and my current 87 9000S. The book on all three specfied 10W30 or 10W40. Why someone would use 75 EP Gear Lube is beyond me. The problems encounted in switching I have read about involve using the Redline products and trying to go back to oil in the 9000 models. Apparently the sulfur in the gear lube depletes the brass in the synchros. I use Castrol GTX 10W40 in my 87 9000S with 4 oz. of Militec-1. My 9000 has 196,800 miles on it. I bought it with 145,890 the end of 1997. My still runs strong and shifts smoothly.
