Many years ago when I lived in a more humid climate, the cat had fleas and thus so did the carpets in the house. After getting the cat cleaned up, we bought a bomb which is a spray can with a clip that holds it in the open position. Basically, you put it in the house (in this case car) in a place so it won't spray on anything, clip it open and shut the place up for (I think) 12 hours. Come back and open all windows and let it air out for a few hours and you're all set. Kills any living creature in the house (car).
