They said the code indicated that the ECM was trying to lean out the fuel mixture yet there was no evidence that this was the case. They checked for dripping injectors and clogged plugs. They told my wife that it was $1000 to replace the ECM but it wouldn't hurt anything to drive the car without replacing it. We left the car at the airport for a week and when we returned the car wouldn't start. I checked all the fuses all are good. My question is should the dealer be checking something else before replacing the ECM e.g. the fuel pump or a bad sensor? It seems strange to jump straight to the computer before checking all the systems that feed it info.
