Subject: Re: 9000 bulb out indicator

Good luck on this one, guy. I have an '87 9000S which I'm very happy with. One day a rear bulb went out and I replaced it with a generic bulb. No go, the pictogram light remained on. I then went to a local Saab specalist and bought an entire set of new bulbs and replaced them all -- still no go. Then, I directly ran a ground wire from the tail light grounds to chassis ground - IAW Saabs suggestion on how to fix this known issue. No go. So, now (3 months later) all of the lights work perfectly but the pictogram stays on (but only when the light switch is actually turned to one of the on positions). With the switch turned off there are no problems (pict is out) and tapping on the brake won't trip it into switching on. For the moment, until I get a better suggestion, I give up. I'll just live with it. The vehicle is such a joy otherwise that I just don't care too much anymore -- but would love to figure out how to make it work right.
