Subject: Saab Anti Lock Brakes - A Question.

Hi, I've got a 1994 Saab900SE Coupe (2.5 - V6). I've had the car for a few weeks , and now I've been getting more used to it I've been giving it a bit of welly for a few days. Anyway, when I have to brake hard enough to use the abs, I get a horrible grinding noise through the body of the car and I can feel the brake pedal vibrating along with the noise. I know the brake pedal should 'pump' as the abs works, but the noise is so horrible I'm convinced that it's not right. The car is the General Motors version of the 900, which has a Bosch ABS system (so I'm told). The seller assures me that this noise is normal, and I'm certain he's not bothered getting them checked to save himself some grief. I've never had a car with ABS before, so I'm not certain, but I've never heard anyone elses car make this noise when they brake, and a few have told me that they can feel the ABS kicking in when they've had to brake hard. I don't really want to have to fork out for a brakes test, but I need to know if this really is normal. Can anyone shed any light on this ??? TIA Regards Jay
