Subject: Speed up problem in 900c

I have a Saab 900c model 1990 (not injection type). When I'm driving and I accelerate a little faster there is a two second phase in which the engine does not increase its rpm. After that it starts to speed up quite normally. Speeding up the motor in neutral is normal. From where does this two second phase come from? Is it a broken diaphragm in the carburator? Or the problem in the ignition distributor's vacuum timing block? I put more damping oil to the carburator but it didn't help. Thanks, Tuomas Juhola
