I recently purchased 3 non-running Saabs, (2 1980 900 Turbo's and a late 70's (1978 I believe) 99 EMS) and I am looking at having to tow these three cars on a tow dolly for a distance of over 100 miles. There will be highway driving involved as well. I am completely new to Saab's myself and from dealing with towing other cars (which I do often) - I know there can sometimes be special procedures that need to be observed or at least things you need to be aware of when towing them. The 900's are manual transmissions and the 99 is an automatic. I know that some other car lines I have dealt with are fine for towing the manuals on a dolly either direction and the automatics need to have the drive wheels on the dolly and the free wheels on the ground. Is this pretty much the same for the Saabs? I'd really like to avoid destroying the transmissions in these cars or doing any more damage to them.
