If so, maybe white spirit (aka turpentine substitute) will lift it off. For years I have washed my cars with plain water and used a cloth moistened with w.s. to remove greasy marks (inc road tar) from paint &c. (Test it on a hidden part of the paintwork first. Look for paint colour on the cloth and changes in paint surface texture.) -- Andrew Stephenson
