Subject: Sketchy Cold Start

Here in the mornings it's a few degrees above 0C (32F) and when I start my 85 900 8v I let it warm for 10 seconds as per the directions in the owner's manual. When I accelerate it's kind of jumpy. Once the engine warms into the green it drives normally. Should I just plug in my block heater an hour before starting or should I get this fixed? If so, how?
