Subject: Re: 2001 9-3 cup holder

I just got my Saab 9-5 wagon two nights ago and I agree that there is not much offered in the way of cockpit storage. The Saab replaces a Camry that had a much larger glove box, a much larger center console storage bin, two sturdy cup holders that came out of the dash, a second mini glove box between the steering wheel and the driver's side door, and even lots of room under the seats. Plus the large storage areas in the doors. To make matters worse, Saab supplied a second cup holder that fits into the center console storage area taking up almost the entire precious area. My 2000 9-5 doesn't have an ashtray either - although the brochures all show one. Where they show an ashtray I have simply a "gasket" that occupies that space with a small permanent opening (i.e. no door) in it. I don't smoke but I did use my ashtray as a small litter can on my Camry. Now I don't have that either. It's too bad because the Saab is such a fine luxury-touring automobile. - Rob Malkin PaulS wrote in message <01c04547$7a095380$011510acnopsamgt;... >I have a '99 9-5 wagon....great car overall, but the Saab cupholders are >the most pathetic I've ever seen!
