This sounds like a problem with a ground/earth connection (or would that be "Erdung"?) A bad connection could cause this and could be just about anywhere in the car. Are the lights that come on when they are not supposed to dimmer than when they are normally on? This would indicate that electricity that should be going to ground is flowing back through these other circuits instead. Since replacing this "contact plate" (I can't quite picture what this might be) solves the problem for awhile, it might not be installed proplerly or some contacts may come loose after awhile. You might also check the items that connect to it, making sure that the other ends are connected properly. Good luck.
