Hello Eric. This isnt going to help, but... My 9000 CDE Turbo (102k), suffered from this, then died. My dealer just, (today, in fact!), charged me £500+ to be "99%" sure of a cure. Driving home from the dealer, (12 miles), the "check engine" light came on again! Dealer said "aha! We only promised a 99% cure. Too bad". Am I happy? Well the car hasn't actually broken down again, but my wallet has. I only bought a Saab 'cos I foolishly believed them to be reliable and well supported. Live & learn. Lol. (UK).
