Subject: What is it?.......

Salutations, I have 1988 Saab 9000 Turbo (100k miles) and of course have no manuals nor can I seem to locate any. I'm trying to identify a part. It sits near the top driver's side of the radiator, there are 3 vacuum hoses attached to it along with an electrical connector. When the electrical connector is plugged in the piece makes a loud ticking sound. It was unplugged when I bought the car (unfortunately it wasn't noticed at time of purchase). The dealer (non-Saab lot) who I bought it from had their mechanic look at it but he didn't seem to know what it did, which isn't surprising as his "tooth to head" ratio was pretty low. Anyways, for the most part the car runs ok...sometimes it goes thru a spell of stalling when I come to a stop but starts right back up fine. I am wondering if this unknown piece that is unplugged is part of that problem. Thanks for your help. Charlie fourply21nopsamail.com
