hi, i have several saabs. some i bought for parts. my question is will the manual tranny from an 83 900s fit an 85 900 ? my day to day car the 85 900 has a bad tranny and the tranny from the 83 is a factory rebuilt with only 40k miles. the question would not be at issue if I had not noticed that the starters on the engine are in different places, top mount versus side mount. this leads me to believe that there might be a difference in the tranny bolt pattern , also. if there is i sure don't want to start the job. if you know the answer or can shead some light on this issue please reply to the newsgroup as the e-mail addresscan't be checked from work. thank you cw
