Subject: Sluggish when engine is warming up

Now that the weather is getting cold here (in Illinois) I have noticed that the acceleration becomes very weak at a point when the temperature gage just starts to move off of the "cold" stop. The turbo boost gage reads in the yellow range even when I am not accelerating. After a minute or two (usually after waiting for a stop light) everything is fine again. I figured that there is a temperature sensor for the LH-Jetronic fuel injection, and my Haynes manual confirms this. Because the problem only happens for a brief period, I don't think I could successfully test the temperature sensor. Has anyone experienced this problem and found that this temperature sensor was the solution? The Haynes manual says "The [Bosch LH-Jetronic] coolant temperature sensor is screwed into the inlet manifold flange on the rear of the cylinder head." Maybe I don't speak British very well, but to me that could be just about anywhere on the upper rear of the engine. Any help in identifying this part would also be appreciated.
