Subject: Re: Replacement Stereo Help?

First thing you must do is to get the wire deal that will poke into those holes. Call up a car stereo joint & ask if they'll give you one. If not, try wires(clotheshanger?).... poke the 2 holes on each side at the same time. Do the exact same thing on the other side with 2 more wires. Pull the face forward. The unit should come out if you wiggle & wriggle it. CAREFULLY pull it forward. Look at the wires. Don't rip 'em out. Your Blaupunkt has a different wiring deal most probably. If you are no good at this splicing/joining stuff, pay somebody to do it. It should cost $25-$50. If you can figure out the wiring a-ok* the rest should be a snap. The replacement has a "box" that fits in there with ITS own little wirey-pokey tool. Just snaps in place. You definitely DON'T have to remove the dashboard. If you do, you're overlooking something obvious. The Blaupunkt is a wise choice, it's a good unit (but I PERSONALLY think the FADE from front to back needs more control.) - Brian Ladd * compare wiring diagrams because the colors don't necessarily mean the same thing from brand to brand. cabroneus_maximusnopsamo.com wrote: > I recently bought an 87 900T, with a factory stereo which doesnt work. > I have a replacement ready (Blaupunkt Houston), but I dont see how I'm > supposed to remove the old one and put in the new one.
