David, Had exactly same symptoms on my '93 Aero. Saab dealer could not find fault till I brought it in when it was bucking, then the fault showed on the #3 secondary coil. Replacing DI cassette solved problem 70k miles ago. I'll bet that's the problem and would rule it in or out before anything else. Good luck.
