I bought a 1985 Saab 900T 8v 5door in Holland for about $1000, and it really is in excellent condition (also 259K km). But of course, no rebuilt engine and so on. Check out the plastic ventilation openings above the rear wheels. They often tend to leak, causing water to stand under the wooden panels of the floor in the back of the car. I assume it has power-steering, check that out too. Good luck! It's a great car! Wouter.
