The Saab CD changer for the 9-5 (and later 9-3) is a unit specially made for Saab by Pioneer. The changer is special as it connects to the CAN bus (a communication network connecting the various computers in the car) and not directly to the head unit. The changer communicates with the head unit (for commands and status) as well as the TWICE computer (for anti theft control). Before the changer can be used it has to be "married" to the car using the Tech-II instrument at a Saab dealer. A changer that is removed from a car without a "divorce" (using the Tech-II instrument) is considered stolen can not be "married" to another car. If you think that this is complicated and you would rather have a standard changer, then thank all those low life people who can not understand the concept of "your stuff" and "my stuff". :-( -- G–ran Larsson Senior Systems Analyst hoh AT approve DOT se
