Mike, The system itself if better. The AS1 ('popular' system, only available in some markets) has no tape, for starters. The AS2 ('premium' system) adds a CD whilst the AS3 ('prestige') adds better electronics and more speakers. My 9-5 Aero has the 8-speaker AS3 with optional sub and CD changer, and I can't fault it. I'm no car stereo expert, but this one has all the sound I want / need.
