Agree with Bob (except the bit about serpentine belt; 900s don't have them, only 9ks). Very rare to need to replace chain on a 900 before 200k miles. Is it rattling much? If so, then most likely is the tensioner, then the guides. Chain is very easy to check for stretch, but if you don't know how to, then get dealer to do it.
