Well, I don't yet know about Saabs [imminent Wagon purchase], but I had this problem a few years ago on a 1988 Range Rover when the seats started playing up. Having been told by the dealer that this was a replacement job which would cost £180 [c. $300] plus tax at 17.5% to for each unit, plus the hourly rate to fit them, I decided that I had many better uses for that sort of money. A liberal squirt of WD40 in each box did the trick. Even costing in my own time, I came out *slightly* ahead. Now, the rest of the car is falling honourably to bits, but the seats just keep on working. If both of your units quit at the same time, the problem is probably further up the wiring. God bless WD40.
