Soliciting opinions from SAAB owners. Situation, '89 900S 4dr needs: -a/c conversion ($700-$800 for kit plus labor, also won't hold charge, mechanic can't determine where the leak is [any experience with bad a/c's]) - new sunroof (don't ask how, but the original is damaged beyond repair, located a different colored sunroof at a salvage yard for $100, but need to paint to match, provided it's the right one [any experience replacing a sunroof?]) -headliner sagging badly ($250 to repair??) I'm not a mechanic, this is my 25 mile, one way to work-mobile. Thoughts: looking at $1200-$1500 to get back in good running order barring a major surprise with the a/c. Have researched numerous web sites for prices on newer SAABs. Considered the cost of keeping the old one running vs. buying something newer. Just gathering thoughts/ideas at this point. What would you consider the end of a car's useful life? Repair exceeds value? Keep going til the motor seizes? Any other point? Realize a lot is individual opinion. Thanks in advance. John
