Subject: 2.0l boost problems

I have an 87 9000t There seems to be a boost problem with the car - here is the story. When I first start the car after it has been siting for a couple of hours it feels great. I get full boost from basically any rpm and the car really goes. After 5 - 10 minutes, however, the car seems to limit me to basic boost (half way through the yellow) till I hit 4500 rpm's then I get full boost. The problem is it hits redline to quick to really get going. Is there any way to fix this - I would appreciate if anyone knows what is going on. Right now I have a 195 degree thermostat if it matters. Bought a 180 to put in but haven't yet. -Thanks -Matt
