The problems are: 1) Safety laws, 2)Emission laws, 3) Insurance costs, and 4)whether Saab finds a market for a 300 BHP car in the US after it has built a car that complies with 1), 2) and 3). After all is said and done, the small market for a 300 BHP car here would probably doom the project. I personally would love to see Saab market a real performance car here, but I understand why they don't. This year; they have enough trouble selling the cars they *know* they can sell. NOTE: Lexus just lowered their base sticker price to $23,900. This compares to the Saab 9-3 base hatchback at $24,250 Invoice, or around $26500 MSRP. Saab has its hands full in the US. m
