Ok, I may be the first. I checked my oil dipstick, as usual, couldn't tell if I was topped off or not so I put in two quarts. For the life of me, I still couldn't tell if I added oil. Two weeks later, the oil light came on simultaneously with a loud rod knocking and the engine died. So I had to replace the engine to the tune of $3,000. (used) Without even getting in to why a 97 900 w/o turbo would lose so much oil, I am advising folks to do whatever is needed to alter the damn dipstick so you can actually check the oil. This was my fourth, and now last Saab. If I can't trust them to design a dipstick, the party is over. DaveBrown
