I looked at mine today, with the ignition off the display only comes on if you press info, but with the ignition on it lights up on its own. Sounds as if you may be missing the ignition connection. Looking at the diagram this appears to be a yellow wire to pin 6 of the DCC. However things may not be so simple, I can't really make out the diagram (I have no key), but it looks as if the ignition also goes through another component which then feeds into the DCC and the EDU. As for blue and white wires I can't see anything on the diagram linking into the DCC. If you have climate control it may be different to mine, if not let me know and I may pull mine out over the weekend and see what is actually connected where.
