Tim- I just bought a '95 Turbo Convertible. While I was looking at cars I had the same questions you did. I was a little concerned about buying a turbo car with 50,000 miles on it. I received a bunch of replies singing praises about the turbo, and damning the V-6. One person wrote back to me with great experiences from his two Saab turbos: one with 200 K + miles on it, still with the original turbo! Also, in the US, I don't think you can get a V-6 with a manual transmission (in case you hate slushboxes as much as I do). Keep in mind that Saab has been making Turbos for ages, and has the art pretty much perfected. In fact, all Saabs brought to the US now are turbos. That fact gave me a little bit more confidence when I bought my car (which has been an absolute dream since I bought it) -Mark <DKNY-Boi-76nopsamv.net> wrote in message news:21582-3B1244F2-127nopsamefull-247.iap.bryant.webtv.net... > hi saab drivers > i am looking into a 95/ 96 900 convt. i have read a lot of message > boards on these cars and it seems like a good buy. the question i have > is, is it better to get a V6 or the turbo 4? the cars i have seen are > around 70K miles, and last i was told buy my auto shop teacher is that > most turbos need replacing after 100k. that in itself is a costly > replace job to say the least. so if anyone has any info or any problems > with these cars ( engine, trans, or electrical) your info would be > greatly appreciated.... > > thanx > Tim >
