Hi Mike; The 900S models did *not* have the separate amplifier. That was offered as part of the audio upgrade package on SE models (which also added speakers in the doors). Are you sure the Panasonic model will work? The Saab radio is made by Clarion and I'm fairly certain that all Saabs are prewired for a Clarion cd changer to be located in the front left corner of the trunk. Installation is easy: pull the carpet back to retrieve the cable in the trunk, and pull the head unit out to connect the cable to the back of the stereo. There doesn't seem to be a shortage of people selling the changers as well (you're looking for the model CDC 635 if you change your mind on the panasonic...). Cheers, Scott.
