I wish it did. My computer tells me I average 12 litres/100 km (about 24 
mpg imperial) from my 1994 9000i automatic. Mind you, we live at the top 
of a fairly steep hill, and lots of little trips up and down are hard on 
the gas. On a trip I average about 9 l/100km or just over 30 mpg imp.
