No, it is not normal. The only time I get the gauge at 3/4 is when the car is stationary on a hot day, e.g. in a que. The heating you get could eventually damage the DI unit among other things. You really have to sort it out. Causes? Cooling system, fan etc. Possibly a dodgy head gasket? All the weird running problem I had in my 1993 9000 CSE was eventually cured in one fell swoop by fitting a new head gasket. Johannes
