Does a well balanced engine really need balancer shafts? Or is it because the competitors have them? They sap efficiency and cost more to look after. BTW I have just read in a mag that a new 9-3 sports car will get the Vauxhall engine Blime! The next 9-3 saloon looks suspiciously like a Vauxhall Vectra, That's an Opel Vectra for some of you.
