Title: Re: Opinions? Author: Nutmegger<Menopsamcretroad.com> Date: Mon, 25 Jun 2001 22:28:18 GMT In article <kQEZ6.1111$xd.112637nopsamoon.snet.net>, Bob says... >I have no idea why people insist on calling Saabs "quirky." Because they are! I mean, I have had three and loved them all, but when something goes wrong it is usually something quirky. Quirky enough to bother you to get it fixed, usually costing a lot. >The only quirkything on my 9-3 is the location of the starting switch, and >once you get used to the location, it's hard to believe other people don't put >it there. I actually like that also, it makes more sense. >Other than this, there's nothing "quirky" about the car. Not in the sense of driving it any way. > >I guess the 9-3 could be considered quirky here in America because it's a >relatively expensive hatchback, and there are few hatchbacks here. > >Considering that the 9-3 came out in 1999 (I believe), how many cars have >even driven 100k miles? More than you'd probably imagine. To go off topic a minute - what really bugs me is those TV advertisements they had a year or two ago about how you could buy a brand new car and do *nothing* to it for 100k! Cripes - no wonder people have problems all the time. 1999 - hmmm, isn't that about the time GM came into the picture? I'm just not sure about the whole new design of the vehicle. >Also, it's an updated 900, so if the 900 was good, >the 9-3 is likely better. I disagee, it is like software. New stuff comes out..then there are all these updates, patches and quirks until it's been out there for a while used under every condition. ~J~
