My German isn't very good, but with the help of my W–rterbuch, here is a try: - alternator = Generator/Dynamomaschine - actuator (there is usually a word before "actuator" to indicate what is being "actuated". For cars, this word is usually used by the British. Since I am from the US, I don't know exactly how it would be used for Saab's. The closest word I can come up with is "antreib". - sprocket wheels (I think this would be "gear" in the US) = Zahnrad/Kettenrad - serpentine belt = Riemen ("serpentine" means the wide type of belt used on newer cars) - pulley = Rolle/Flaschenzug - tensioner (this is a pulley that applies tension) = Spannvorrichtung "Simon Putz" <simon.putznopsamline.de> wrote in message news:9i2aqi$as1$03$1nopsam.t-online.com... > hi ! > > i was wondering if some german on this group could maybe translate me some > words i dont know: > alternator ,actuator , sprocket wheels , serpentine belt, pulley, tensioner, > head gasket, timing chain > (all in context with cars/saab ;) ) > > bye > > simon putz > >
