One item I can speak to is that if you get an auto trans you really miss a great deal of the general sportiness and driver-friendly attributes of the car. My '92 900 S has an automatic, and my engine is revving at about 33 to 3400 rpm when I'm going approx. 70 mph. I've been told that if I had a 5-speed, my engine would probably be spinning at closer to 27 to 2800 rpm at this speed. This, of course, translates into less strain on the entire drivetrain. Just my 2 cents. DC Jeff Knight wrote: > Hi this is my first time in this group. > > I am after a little advice if possible. I am in the process of buying a 1991 > Saab 900 Turbo 16 Valve.
