Subject: General 9000 information

Having owned several 900's in my adult life, I finally came upon the 9000 CD Griffin ('92) that I always wanted. Without clogging up the newsgroup - read: feel free to email me directly - I'd like to get some feedback on the following questions. Bear in mind that I have yet to come across an owner's manual for this particular vehicle, so these probably seem rather basic: 1. Besides the rather large built-in Nokia cell phone and hands-free system, what was so special about the Griffin? 2. In general, what were the major (i.e. most common) complaints for this model/year? 3. Everyone has an opinion, but what oil and transmission fluid is usually recommended (2.3 auto)? 4. Feel free to vote for new tires. 5. The SAAb anti-theft system is quite useable, but it seems silly that a guy can't open the passenger door for his girlfriend or even the trunk without first unlocking the driver's door for fear of waking the neighbors. I recall with a 900 being able to set options on the alarm system by cycling the driver's switch in a particularly arcane binary fashion (one-two, toggle the horn, etc.). Anyone have any information on this? 6. I know that the ACC can be programmed to default to a certain mode if rquired (i.e. in the event of a compressor failure). Any details on ACC options and procedures would be greatly appreciated, especially if they're not generally available in the owner's manual. 7. I've found excerpts from the '92 manual scanned and posted on various sites. Anyone knowing of the complete manual available for download wins a place on my Christmas list. Bonus points to someone who can sell me an original owner's manual in relatively decent condition. 8. How the hell do I get the in-dash informational display (milage, outside air temp, etc) to display in non-metric units? As always, thanks in advance to everyone in this group who has contributed to my getting to know the new ride! Scott
