I am stuck between the SAAB SE and the Volvo. I worry that the SAAB that is due to get a GM-chasis version of the 9-3 will loose a considerable amount of its value and cache in a couple of years, leaving me with an overvalued car at the end of a lease or a car that no one wants for the loan value if I purchase. I suspect that this is not a big concern in the end, but with 0% financing and a great lease rate being offered right now, it certainly looks like they are pushing these cars off the lots as fast as they can. In the end I want a convertible and the Volvo and SAAB are competing head to head. So here is the question, should I go with the C70 which is a pretty good convertible or the quirky and lovable SAAB 9-3 SE. If you have thoughts, especially in light of expected 2003 model year improvements to the SAAB, let me know. I would also like to hear any comments on the quality of the SAAB, torque steer, cowl shake, wind noise, reliability, service. I live in the Northern California area, so I am particularly interested in that area.
