Subject: Re: Check Engine Light

I also own a '96 900 SE with the same problem. I took it to a dealer who found 3 trouble codes. One was a vacuum leak, another the oxygen sensor and I can't remember the third (but the estimate to replace it was around $350.) I was told that by replacing the sensor the other two trouble codes "might" disappear. I replaced the sensor, which cost around $250, and the "check engine" light stopped appearing for about 2 weeks. It has reappeared three times since but the car runs the same either way. I suspect I'll take it in again to be checked, and will eventually replace the $350 part. If anyone has another suggestion I'd welcome the advice. It wasn't a particularly expensive repair.)
