Subject: 9000 TPS unit and fuel economy

Hi all, A friend was looking over the car today, both of us trying to find out why my fuel consumption is high (computer says an average of 20 imperial MPG) with a mix of motorway and town driving. We checked for vacuum leaks, and couldn't find any. We then checked the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) and found no resistance at any of the three contacts, regardless of the throttle position. (we were able to check my friends 9000, which has resistance for the same test). I assume this means that the unit is faulty. Anyone know where to find a pattern part or if other vehicles use this same Bosch unit, rather than the full Saab retail price? -- Regards, Danny http://www.gaggia-espresso.com (a purely hobby site) swap Z for above characters in email address to reply
