This site is a good resource: http://hjem.get2net.dk/bengaard/apc-syst.htm the addition of an APC system and an intercooler will allow you to run a bit more boost without undue stress on the engine. You will effectively create a full pressure turbo. I am not sure, but I think the LPT has the same compression ratio as the full turbo and the only difference is the APC system and the intercooler. These parts should be reasonable at a breaker's yard. The TE05 turbo is a nice unit for these cars and is coveted by many which are running the Garrett.
